Privacy
Last updated November 3, 2026. Applies to tuneplz.com and the tuneplz Android app.
Microphone
tuneplz listens only after you tap Start, and only while it’s running. The sound is analyzed on your device, in your browser, to measure pitch. It is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere. Pause (⏸), leaving the tab for 30 seconds, or closing it turns the microphone off.
What’s stored
Your settings (tuning, custom tunings, capo, reference pitch, display choices) are saved in your browser’s local storage on your device so they’re there next time. They never leave the device. Clearing the site’s data, or uninstalling the app, deletes them.
What isn’t
No accounts. No cookies. No analytics, tracking pixels or fingerprinting. The tuner itself makes no network requests after the page loads.
Hosting
The site is served by GitHub Pages. Like any web server, GitHub receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads and may keep them in its logs for security; see GitHub’s privacy statement. tuneplz does not receive or see that data.
Android app
The Android app opens tuneplz.com in Chrome (or your default browser) without the address bar. It requests no Android permissions and collects no data; the microphone prompt comes from the browser, and the same rules above apply. Your browser’s own privacy policy covers the browser.
Shared links
“Share link” puts a tuning’s notes, name, capo and reference pitch in the link itself. Anyone you send it to sees those; nothing is uploaded.
Changes and contact
Changes to this policy will be posted on this page with a new date. Questions: open an issue on GitHub.
